Comment by Jon B on September 6, 2012 at 7:58am It was 1985, I was 22 years old. I had just gotten out of the Marines, my father was less than a month in his grave. I was once again in the home I grew up in. One night, lying in bed I was awakened by a sensation that cannot be described with words, but I'll try. Every atom of my being vibrated with a holy love. All at the same time for just a few seconds. I have never since felt anything remotely like it. Helping deliver my two sons paled in comparison. Seeing the most beautiful sunsets on the planet were nothing compared with this. I honestly don't think I could handle feeling that level of bliss all the time, but I'm willing to try.
Comment by Elisabeth Granli on May 17, 2012 at 8:23am Most recently, it happened as I was driving down Tropicana Avenue in Las Vegas. I had a cold, for the first time in 5 years, and was running a bit late for work, both because I stayed in a dingy little motel far away from the convention center, where I was going to work, and because I'd stopped at a Starbucks to get a venti soy-latte. As I was driving along, I looked up in the sky, and saw that the moon was still there, faint but visible. And all of a sudden I felt overcome with an intense feeling of love for all that is, and also a connection with all that is. it was all so beautiful. One of my favorite songs came on, and I felt like I was floating, and that nothing could bother me or hurt me. It was the most unlikely setting to have that experience, but it felt perfect.
