This photo was taken at the Whipsdale Zoo outside of London by Marac Andrev Kolodzinski. Okay, the truth is that this otter probably wasn't really praying, he was playing with a stone and the photographer happened to catch it at the perfect moment. Still, since otters are among my favorite animals (along with pandas), I couldn't resist posting....besides, is there truly a major difference between genuine prayer and genuine play?

Comment by Kevin Austin on March 10, 2012 at 6:40pm Very cute. He looks like he is praying but I'm sure a lot of people truly think that he is praying lol. Nice image!

Comment by Photobug 24 on March 10, 2012 at 2:36pm What an adorable image! And you're right- there is no difference between talking to God and being on the receiving side of it (playing/being purely creative). I'm a non-religious albeit spiritual person, and I think being creative and opening yourself as a receiving conduit for inspiration is the highest form of prayer.
Comment by tomsbabyjenna on March 8, 2012 at 5:15pm How fitting that I find this and you are talking about pandas as well. I am watching Kung Fu Panda 2 and the mission is to find inner peace. There is lots of prayer involved in a sense through this movie as well. I think even if your not religious praying can help you feel calm and at ease which certainly helps you work on your happiness. When you are calm and not distracted you can find easier to focus on small things that bring you pleasure

Comment by JessicaH on March 5, 2012 at 12:23am Awe! That Otter is so cute. I wonder if it's possible to have them as pets. LOL
Comment by Jennifer Dunn on March 1, 2012 at 6:13am Adorable! I love it :) Reminds us all that prayer is really just talking with a friend.....but taking the time to clear your mind and do it is where the benefit begins :)
Comment by lena gogol on February 27, 2012 at 3:39am This photo is indeed the photo of the day. This animal is so sweet. It really looks like it is prying. How could the photographer do that?
Comment by Amber Newton on February 26, 2012 at 1:36pm This is so sweet! Brought a big smile to my face as soon as I came to the site!
Comment by Grace Reeves on February 26, 2012 at 9:43am I think the otter is asking to stop global warming because its getting hotter everyday. Wonderful photo First thing in my mind at first glance is what is he praying for. Is it food?
